The bottom line regarding a smoke-free law is health.  Unlike many other personal behaviors, smoking impacts more than the person making the choice. When people smoke in public places they affect the health of everyone around them.

Everyone has the right to breathe smoke-free indoor air in public places and at work.

The new law will protect people from secondhand smoke, which is a proven cause of serious health problems.

Exposure to secondhand smoke increases the risk of heart disease, lung cancer and disease – even in non-smokers.
